With 141 Colleges and Schools of pharmacy across the country, prospective students have a variety of options. If an applicant is interested in Xavier University College of Pharmacy, it's important for them to know that we are mission centered. We have a demographically diverse student population, and the College of Pharmacy as well as the university is committed to service. We are excited about the opportunity for students to earn dual degrees. This enables a student to earn a bachelor and a Pharm D degree in seven years instead of eight.
The student retention and support program offers a vast variety of organizations that help students matriculate throughout their experience here in the College of Pharmacy, whether that's academic enrichment program, tutoring, vanguard's interactive mentorship, the pre-matriculation program or our expeers. They're all programs directed on the student retention and support system to allow students to have resources to make sure that their transition here is as smooth as possible, along with the resources to help them in their areas of need.
Our faculty advising program in my opinion is stellar. Students come in as P1 students. They're assigned an advisor from orientation. So even before classes begin, the students are assigned an advisor that will be with them throughout their matriculation in our program.
From day one, we asked students to present themselves in a professional manner. During orientation, we expect that they will show up, dress professionally. We do have a dress code for the College of Pharmacy. And it does give the students idea as to what you should wear at appropriate times. Especially if you're going out into different facilities to represent Xavier. We expect that their white coats are clean, ironed, and of course the clothes is professionally appropriate. We always let them know that you're representing both, not only yourself, but your residents Xavier University and the professional pharmacy and we expect that you always conduct yourself.
